Benclif Enterprises, LLC dba Benclif Designs is a full time business. Benclif is not a DIY source nor a part time hobby business. We deeply value what we do and the relationships we have and will yet develop with our suppliers, direct clients and the design trade.

All electrical components of my lamps and fixtures are UL approved/recognized and come from reputable suppliers.

My direct/hardwire fixtures are comprised of UL Approved components, are built to UL standards and can be certified/officially labeled through my UL service. There is an upcharge per fixture for official UL laboratory assembly inspection and labeling.

COMMERCIAL INSTALLATIONS: Please convo me for details regarding UL certification (UL LISTED) of my lighting designs for use in restaurants, hotels, etc.

UL-APPROVED vs. UL-LISTED
The term UL-LISTED is used for assembled products, such as a lamp or fan. UL-APPROVED is used for individual electrical components, such as a socket or plug. UL-LISTED assemblies must be comprised of UL-APPROVED electrical components.

FABRIC COVERED CORD:
The fabric covered cords I use in my designs are PVC covered copper with an outer fabric (rayon or cotton) cover.

I use only the safest techniques and materials in producing my art. All electrical components are new. All parts, wires, connecting devices, switches, plugs, sockets, etc., are from reputable suppliers and are all UL recognized. Connections are soldered, covered with wire nuts and further secured with electrical tape and zip ties. To protect against wire fray over time, bushings are placed at any point where wire enters or exits a part of a lamp.

I test each lamp before it leaves my studio. Each piece is carefully inspected before it is listed to ensure years safe operation. Any irregularity in the electrical function of any piece is corrected before it is listed in my retail store or Etsy shop. If I determine an item has not been safely electrically converted, the design is scrapped and not sold.

Furthermore, the wattage of the bulbs included with a creation are what I recommend. Please be mindful of this and do not put any bulb higher than the wattage you remove. This will ensure there is no damage done to your purchase and eliminate the risk of fire.

CUSTOM WORK: Custom projects are typically done with artifacts that I currently have in my studio inventory. If you have an item you'd like converted, please provide photos and perhaps a sketch of your vision for the piece if you are feeling specific. Shipping of the artifact to/from my Atlanta studio is your responsibility.
If you are sending your own item, you are agreeing that the item may be permanently altered or broken in the process. I do my utmost to avoid major alterations and if I can see that destruction is possible, I will not move forward without your written consent via email.
Payment on any custom work: Payment in full plus estimated shipping charges to start project. I will set up a RESERVED/CUSTOM ORDER with you name on it from which you may place your order. Photos of completed work sent before shipping.

All shipping is the buyer's responsibility and I typically ship FedEx.

Sales Tax is only applicable to those sales within the state of Georgia. Sales tax is not applicable to any other state.

RESERVED PRODUCTS/RESERVATION POLICY
I am happy to reserve a product for you in you need extra time and want to hold a product. I require clear communication of your intent and without it, will only RESERVE an item for 24 hours. ANY RESERVATION BEYOND 24 HOURS requires a non-refundable deposit of 1/4 the item total. Convo me to make arrangements.

CANCELED ORDERS
If you need to cancel your order for any reason, please use the Conversation section and contact me as soon as possible. Cancellations will be accepted on all orders if the cancellation is received prior to shipping. If shipping has occurred please see my Returns Policy.

Shipping

Due to the nature of my creations I will need a few extra days to package your purchase for shipment. Simpler creations will leave my studio faster than those that are larger or have an unusual shape or form.

I reuse shipping materials whenever possible, this includes boxes and dunnage. It's a small thing, but it does reduce shipping costs and lessen my impact on the environment.

**CHANGES AS OF APRIL 2013: We are now shipping exclusively FedEx. Under special circumstances I may also use insured USPS Parcel Select or Priority Mail.

If you need your purchase sooner, please use the Conversation button at the top of this page so we can make arrangements in advance. Keeping shipping costs low is a priority.

PURCHASES IN EXCESS OF 250.00 REQUIRE A SIGNATURE AT TIME OF DELIVERY. PLEASE BE AWARE SO SOMEONE IS PRESENT TO SIGN.

If you'd like to purchase more than one item, I will combine shipping if the items can be safely shipped in the same carton. I will refund any overpayment directly to your account on the day of shipping.

RETURN REQUESTS
We put in extra effort in both describing, providing measurements and photographs of any and all parts of a creation that may influence a buying decision. We are open to questions and will provide additional information to aid in your decision. For this reason, we accept returns within THREE (3) days of purchase on our one of a kind creations. Please be certain your questions are sufficiently answered before you make your decision. We strictly adhere to this return policy. Please be aware.

All lighting is pre-tested before it leaves the studio to ensure it is in working order. We will do whatever is economically and physically feasible to help you with a concern. Please make contact.

SHIPPING CHARGES ARE NOT REFUNDED. COSTS RELATED TO SHIPPING THE ITEM BACK ARE THE BUYER'S RESPONSIBILITY.

DAMAGE DURING TRANSIT/SHIPPING DAMAGES
I will insure all items prior to shipping to cover both the buyer and seller in the event of shipping damage.

My creations are often one-of-a-kind and may not be replaceable. We will handle this on a case by case basis. Contact me immediately so we may discuss the damage and how best to repair it or simply offer a full refund.

Additional

These are one of a kind lamp creations made from repurposed, recycled, upcycled materials. There may be finish imperfections and other marks that are inherent to the item when it was found. Typically, the only new materials I use are switches, sockets, bulbs and wire.

WHOLESALE: My Etsy prices are already wholesale. I do not offer further discounted pricing or lists. Nearly all of my creations are one of a kind, allowing you to price them according to the customer demographic of your store.
